A digital microscope shows one camera view on a screen. It is easier to share and record, but depth must be inferred from focus, lighting and movement.

Working distance matters

A trinocular stereo microscope with a camera combines optical depth for the operator with screen capture for documentation. It costs more and needs careful camera-adapter matching, but it is the strongest hybrid for serious repair and inspection.
